12 LGBTQ+ Books Coming Out in 2021

One thing that I love is that queer literature is becoming more and move common place. And there are some truly amazing LGBTQ+ books coming out this year!

Lets check them out:

  1. Winter’s Orbit

Ancillary Justice meets Red, White & Royal Blue in Everina Maxwell’s exciting debut.

I love debut authors and I’m pumped to see how this one is!

2. She Drives Me Crazy

High school nemeses fall in love in this queer YA rom com perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Casey McQuisten.

Enemies to lovers gay contemporary ?!?!? I AM READY!

3. In The Ravenous Dark

A pansexual bloodmage reluctantly teams up with an undead spirit to start a rebellion among the living and the dead.

PANSEXUAL BLOODMAGE. I REPEAT PANSEXUAL BLOODMAGE. Literally I don’t need to know anything else.

4. The Dead And The Dark

Courtney Gould’s thrilling debut The Dead and the Dark is about the things that lurk in dark corners, the parts of you that can’t remain hidden, and about finding home in places―and people―you didn’t expect.

Disappearing people, paranormal weather, and teenage romance. All that I look for in a mystery!

5. Lost In The Never Woods

When children go missing, people want answers. When children go missing in the small coastal town of Astoria, people look to Wendy for answers.

6. The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry

A charming historical fantasy with a tender love story at its core, from the author of Unnatural Magic.

Petty thieves, female bodyguards, and magic. I’m ready.

7. Malice

A princess isn’t supposed to fall for an evil sorceress. But in this darkly magical retelling of “Sleeping Beauty,” true love is more than a simple fairy tale.

IT IS A GAY PRINCESS/VILLIAN RETELLING OF BRIAR ROSE. I love retellings, I love love stories that shouldn’t happen, and I love female romance. This book is going to be amazing!

8. A Dark and Hollow Star

The “ironborn” half-fae outcast of her royal fae family.
A tempestuous Fury, exiled to earth from the Immortal Realm and hellbent on revenge.
A dutiful fae prince, determined to earn his place on the throne.
The prince’s brooding guardian, burdened with a terrible secret.

This book apparently has pansexual, lesbian, bisexual, gay and genderfluid rep which is just awesome! Give me all the gay fae.

9. She’s Too Pretty To Burn

An electric romance set against a rebel art scene sparks lethal danger for two girls in this expertly plotted YA thriller. For fans of E. Lockhart, Lauren Oliver and Kara Thomas.

Honestly this is the ya contemporary mystery I never knew I needed and I am so excited to read it. Definitely one of my most anticipated books this year!

10. A Lesson In Vengeance

For fans of Wilder Girls and Ninth House comes a dark, twisty, atmospheric thriller about a boarding school haunted by its history of witchcraft and two girls dangerously close to digging up the past.

I absolutely loved The Fever King so I’m down for whatever Victoria Lee writes, but this book does sound amazing! Basically school’s of witchcraft are my weakness.

11. All of Us Villians

The blockbuster co-writing debut of Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman, All of Us Villains begins a dark tale of ambition and magick…

You Fell In Love With The Victors of The Hunger Games.
Now Prepare To Meet The Villains of The Blood Veil.

I fell in love with Amanda Foody’s writing with Ace of Shades, and Herman’s The Devouring Gray is on my TBR. I’m so excited to see what these two do together

12. These Feathered Flames

A queer retelling of “The Firebird,” a Russian folktale

I’m actually starting this one pretty soon here and I’m excited. Queer retellings are always on the top of my to buy list!

So there we go! 12 LGBTQ+ books that I’m excited for in 2021! I cannot wait to read all of these!

What queer books are you most looking forward to this year?
